Chair One (re) vs.
Chair One
March 2025
What's the difference?
Meet the Chair One (re), a reimagining of our award-winning Chair One. Both are lightweight,
packable, and built to last, but the Chair One (re) takes comfort, frame strength, and sustainability to the next level.
Here's how they compare:
Comfort
Building on the features of our original Chair One, the Chair One (re) seat is even more comfortable. We created (re)Tension Design, adding a second tension line within the perimeter of the chair to redistribute weight around the frame for improved support.
Chair One (re)
The addition of a second tension line redistributes weight for a more supportive seat.
Chair One
Without a tension line across the top, the Chair One relied on the natural tension created by the frame and seat panels to distribute weight and provide support.
Seat Height
The Chair One (re) has a taller frame, making sitting down and standing up easier.

Frame Strength
Redesigned nylon resin hubs and wider-diameter poles give the Chair One (re) an edge in strength and durability.
Chair One (re)
A more stable and durable build, featuring newly redesigned nylon resin hubs and wider-diameter poles.
Chair One
Focused on packability, the original used slimmer poles and legacy hubs with less structural support.
Sustainability
The frame of the Chair One (re) is made from (re)Form Aluminum—sustainably crafted using aluminum shavings that would otherwise be discarded. This design minimizes waste and lowers our environmental impact.
Chair One (re)
Expanding on the sustainable practices of the Chair One, the alloy discs used to craft the (re) frames are made from aluminum shavings that would otherwise go to waste.
Chair One
Uses green anodized DAC aluminum—a more environmentally friendly anodizing process that reduces the use of harsh chemicals and wastewater.
Assembly
While both the Chair One and Chair One (re) feature shock-corded poles and can be assembled in minutes, the redesigned corner pole pockets of the Chair One (re) allow for a smoother, more streamlined set-up.
Chair One (re)
Built tougher with TPU-molded corner pole pockets for increased durability and reliability.
Chair One
Sets up quickly with shock-corded poles that lock the frame securely into place.
Fabric & Features
Both chairs are made from durable, high-performance polyester with mesh paneling for ventilation. The Chair One (re) uses a lighter-density fabric to balance its slightly heavier frame and includes an integrated side pocket.
Chair One (re)
Lighter-density, durable 300D polyester with a side pocket for your extras.
Chair One
Durable 600D polyester.
